I’d like to consider this city my happy place. I first came here as a freshman in college as a means to go somewhere far and unique. It was a hot day and the South Carolinian palm trees soared high in the sky. I fell in love with this place. Three years later, I decided to come back to relive that memory. Of course, my reasoning was a bit more reminiscent and yearning for a positive feeling by after a bunch of stress and things happening back at home. The feeling was still there, this place is amazing and beautiful. I wish my family could see this place with me this exact second.

I do not write this story from a distant or sorrowed perspective, but rather a positive and hopeful one. I am emotional because I think a lot about my choices in life and the ones yet to come. I came to this city to find myself after weeks and months of stress, depression, and confusion. I am happy to report that this small yet meaningful adventure is exactly what I needed.

I am currently in a good point in life where I am grateful for the friends i’ve made along the way and the people that have been supportive of me and my decisions. There’s still a lot of uncertainty in my life but i do not fret.
