I got my bracelet at a local beach shop in Captiva FL while on vacation with my family for Christmas. The reminder of community struck me as a life lesson I’ve really been learning this year. Right when I get home, I’m moving out of state and going back to college. I’ve moved a lot, and for the first time I feel like more that just one or two people are going to miss me when I leave. I’ve finally realized the importance of having community and understand how to build that around me. I’ve learned I love to host and make my home a home for others, and while they’re there they’re not just visitors, they’re family. Instead of living life with shallow acquaintances, I’ve learned to live life fully and really pour out love into people even if it means a harder goodbye later or going through more ups and downs in relationships as they do if you really care to know and stick by a person. I’m going to keep living life fully and fully loving people and building that community around me wherever I go, and I do know one thing, that Jesus is with me wherever I go and he will keep pouring his love into me no matter what happens or where life takes me.
