I started my career in the renewables world 13 years ago and have been lucky to see so much change from different seats within the industry. I started at a traditional utility where it would have been easy to follow a path of getting promoted every 2-3 years and moving up the chain but I bet on myself to move to the finance world where I supported development through investment strategies at a PE fund, then started my own business doing advisory work, and now working for an engineering firm to advance their business development efforts. No career in this industry is a straight line and once I realized risk can be rewarded my professional life got a lot more enjoyable.
