I received my Compass from my wife, Jennifer, for my 61st birthday. Heading into the outdoors for an adventure has become my birthday tradition. This year, the plan was to hike to the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. However, due to the flashflood in August, plans changed. I hiked Kendrick Peak near Flagstaff, Arizona with a good friend.
We started our hike in the late evening, arriving at a meadow near a rustic, historic cabin well after dark. The next day, we hiked to the lookout tower to admire the beautiful views of Northern Arizona, including a glimpse of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in the distance.
