My kali yuga

Tag number: #20882

I bought this in an airport at what I believed to be a turning point in my life. I was leaving Idaho after having spent Christmas with my mom and her family in a beautiful cabin heading to illinois. It was an impromptu trip; my best friend at the time had texted “instead of going back to North Carolina… Just got here.” So I did. A road trip, romantic hike, first kiss, lots of casual walks, family crises, job change, hardship discharge from the army, late night talks, stargazing, cooking lessons, climbing sessions, philosophical debates, and one stray dog later, we now stand as husband and, me, wife. Last time I visited my mom and dad, I left this necklace with my mom. Perhaps it will return to me, perhaps it won’t. But regardless, it was on my chest every day through possibly the craziest six months of my life, and has as much of a story as I do. Wherever it goes, I hope the wearer always remembers to embrace the highs and the lows, take refuge in the truth of impermanence, and to always be in the moment. Live fully, live freely. Recognize the kali yuga, and ride it.
