My Search for True North

After a year of caregiving for my elderly mother with whom I have never had a good relationship, the stress has taken its toll on my body, mind, and spirit. The ground beneath my feet has shaken and shifted, as if in an earthquake. My beloved late father was a night fighter pilot in World War 2, in the Pacific; he said “when you are lost, wherever you are lost, always look for True North.” And so the Compass became my personal symbol for home, and peace. I am starting this bracelet, #2969, as a symbol of the recovery of my spirit and body from grief, illness, and addiction, and to know that it will eventually land in the hands of someone else who may be searching for their own true north.
