My life has never been a straight path. I began my journey in one part of the world, never imagining that one day I would fly across the globe to a country I never intended to live in.
But life has a way of changing our plans.
I came across an ocean and found my soulmate. I found love, built a life, and eventually made this country my home. What I once thought was a temporary chapter became my life.
But living between two worlds has its own beauty and pain.
Half of my loved ones are across the sea, while the person I love most is here with me. My heart belongs to people separated by thousands of miles and an entire ocean. I have learned that sometimes home is not one place. Sometimes, home is divided between the people you love.
My journey has also been filled with unexpected turns. I built my education and career through years of dedication, earning a Ph.D. and spending more than a decade in scientific research. I had dreams and plans, but life had other plans too.
There were times when I had to step away from my career. There were surgeries, family responsibilities, difficult moments, and setbacks that changed the direction of my life. There were times when I had to start again and moments when I wondered whether I would ever find my way back to the path I imagined for myself.
But I never stopped.
I crossed an ocean to find love. I built a home in a place I never planned to call home. I have carried both joy and longing, while learning how to belong to two worlds at once. And every unexpected turn has taught me that moving forward does not always mean knowing exactly where you are going.
Sometimes, moving forward means beginning again.
Sometimes, it means finding strength when life takes you somewhere you never intended to go.
My journey is still unfolding. I am still learning, still growing, still finding my place.
I do not know exactly where the next chapter will take me. But I know this:
