I bought my bracelet in Steamboat Springs, Colorado while on a weekend trip with a long-time friend. We participated in an art project using snowshoes to write words and designs in a snow-filled meadow at Carpenter Ranch, a Nature Conservancy property. We had a great weekend at the ranch with her friends surrounded by beautiful winter scenery. I am a retired ESL teacher. I have spent my career working with and making connections to students from many cultures from all over the world. I have always tried to be kind and leave my students with a positive feeling about their experience in my classes. I truly believe that I get back what I give, and I feel I have received so much kindness from all the many students I’ve worked with. Travel is my passion. When I saw your bracelets in a store, I really liked the idea of wearing my bracelet until my next big journey to teach in Xi’an, China this coming summer. I’m excited to pass it on to someone there that I haven’t even met yet but feel will take it on another international journey. Wearing my Compass bracelet will remind me that we all need kindness and that starts with being kind.
